Dr. Shiraz is a board certified physician anesthesiologist serving the DFW metroplex who is passionate about utilizing the latest technology to provide the best possible outcomes for patients. He’s focused on being one of the best anesthesiologists in DFW for both his patients and his peers.

After completing his anesthesiology residency at Emory University in 2011, Dr. Shiraz accepted a prestigious Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain fellowship at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospitals. While at Columbia/NYPH, Dr. Shiraz was privileged enough to work with some of New York’s finest surgeons including the NY Yankees team surgeon and many professional athletes and celebrities.

After fellowship, Dr. Shiraz entered private practice in 2012. It was in 2015 that Dr. Shiraz became frustrated with the corporate practice mentality of “profits over people” and elected to start his own practice. This new practice focused on a commitment to providing exceptional anesthesia care for all patients. We enjoy treating patients as if they are “part of the family.”

Dr. Shiraz is passionate about preventing opioid addiction. The dangers of opioid addiction are a serious issue and many Americans received their first opioid dose in relation to surgery. Dr. Shiraz specializes in the latest techniques designed to reduce pain without the use of opioids. In addition, patients receiving minimal opioids recover faster, participate in rehabilitation with greater success and have less side effects.

Dr. Shiraz has spoken to both the public and other doctors about how we can work to reduce the amount of opioids distributed in the United States. Featured on NBC news and in the Texas Medical Association’s journal. Dr. Shiraz also serves on the Professional Speakers Bureau for Halyard Health, as well as the Advisory Board for Pacira Pharmaceuticals. He is frequently an instructor at nerve block workshops, training other anesthesiologists across the country.
